ZEE5 is a popular online streaming service from India. It lets you watch movies, TV shows, and other videos whenever you want. This service is managed by a company called Zee Entertainment Enterprises.
ZEE5 first launched in India on February 14, 2018. It offered content in 12 different languages right from the start. You can use the ZEE5 app on many devices. These include your phone, tablet, smart TV, and computer. By December 2019, ZEE5 had 56 million people using it every month.

How ZEE5 Started
ZEE5 came from earlier online platforms. These platforms were also owned by Zee Entertainment.
From Ozee to ZEE5
Before ZEE5, there was a platform called Ozee. It started in February 2016. Ozee offered shows from many Zee TV channels. You could watch shows from Zee TV, & TV, and Zee Café. It even had special shows from the Zindagi channel.
Ozee was free to use and showed advertisements. On February 14, 2018, Ozee joined with ZEE5. This meant all its content moved to the new ZEE5 platform.
Bringing Content Together
ZEE5 brought together content from Ozee and another service called DittoTV. DittoTV was a service you paid for. ZEE5 now has over 100,000 hours of content. This includes original shows, Indian and international movies, and TV series. It also has music, live TV, and health videos. All this content is available in 12 different regional languages.
What You Can Watch
ZEE5 offers many types of shows and movies. They started making their own web series in 2018.
Original Web Series
Some of the first web series on ZEE5 were Nanna Koochi (in Telugu) and America Mappillai (in Tamil). They also had Dhatt Tere Ki (in Hindi). In 2018, they released Kallachirippu, produced by filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. Another popular show was Karenjit Kaur – The Untold Story of Sunny Leone. This series was about the life of Sunny Leone.
In July 2019, ZEE5 teamed up with ALTBalaji. This partnership lets ZEE5 users watch ALTBalaji's original shows too.
Shows in Different Languages
ZEE5 also offers shows that were originally in one language and then dubbed. Dubbing means the original voices are replaced with new voices in a different language.

ZEE5 also streams news channels from Zee Media Corporation. These include Zee News, Zee Business, and WION. There are also 15 regional language news channels.
Sports on ZEE5
In January 2023, ZEE5 started streaming major sports events. It became the official streaming partner for the International League T20. This was a big step for ZEE5 into the world of sports.
HiPi: A Social Video Platform
HiPi is a special part of the ZEE5 app. It's a social platform where people can share short videos. Users can record and upload their own videos. They can also watch and interact with videos shared by others. HiPi is free to use within the ZEE5 app.
Where You Can Use ZEE5
ZEE5 is now available in many countries around the world. It launched in the United States on June 22, 2021.
ZEE5 has also partnered with other companies. For example, it's available for free on Vi Movies and TV. This is a streaming service from Vodafone Idea. It's also on Airtel Xstream, a service from Bharti Airtel. Vodafone Idea and ZEE5 even created a new channel called ZEE5 Theater. This channel shows ZEE5 original movies and shows only on the Vi Movies and TV app.

The ZEE5 app is available on all major mobile platforms. ZEE5 has worked with technology companies to make its app better. They focus on making it easy to use and perform well.
