Zaccharie Risacher (born 8 April 2005) is a French professional basketball player. He was born in Spain and now plays for the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was chosen as the very first player in the 2024 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks.

Early Life and Youth Career
Zaccharie Risacher was born on April 8, 2005, in Málaga, Spain. His dad, Stéphane Risacher, was also a pro basketball player there. Zaccharie's family later moved back to Lyon, France.
He started playing club basketball at Élan Chalon when he was just three and a half years old. He also played for a youth club called Tassin. In August 2020, he joined the youth team of ASVEL Basket. He mostly played for their youth team in the LNB Espoirs, which is France's league for players under 21.
Professional Basketball Journey
Starting with LDLC ASVEL (2021–2024)
Risacher made his first appearance with ASVEL's main team in 2021. This was in a LNB Élite game against Metropolitans 92. He also played his first EuroLeague game on January 18, 2022. In the LNB Espoirs youth league, he averaged 12.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Playing for JL Bourg (2023–2024)
On June 16, 2023, Risacher signed his first professional contract with ASVEL. He was then immediately loaned to another top French team, JL Bourg, for the 2023–24 season. In November 2023, he was picked to play for Team France in the LNB All-Star Game.
Risacher also played for JL Bourg in the 2023–24 EuroCup. His team made it all the way to the finals. In April 2024, Risacher won the EuroCup Rising Star award. He was almost 19 years old, making him the second-youngest player to ever win this award.
On May 12, 2024, Risacher was named the Best Young Player of the 2023–24 LNB Élite season. He averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in about 22 minutes per game.
Joining the Atlanta Hawks (2024–Present)
On April 22, 2024, Risacher announced he would enter the 2024 NBA draft. The NBA confirmed his entry on May 2.
On June 26, 2024, the Atlanta Hawks chose Risacher as the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft. He was the second French player in a row to be picked first. Victor Wembanyama was the first in the previous year. Risacher also became the fifth international player to be the top pick.
Risacher was drafted along with two other French players, Alex Sarr and Tidjane Salaün. This made France the first foreign country to have at least three players picked in the top 10 of an NBA draft.
On July 6, 2024, Risacher officially signed with the Hawks. Six days later, he played his first NBA Summer League game. He scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds. Risacher made his official NBA regular-season debut on October 23, 2024. He scored seven points in a win against the Brooklyn Nets. On November 6, 2024, Risacher scored a career-high 33 points in a win over the New York Knicks. On March 30, 2025, he scored 36 points in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks. He became one of only four top draft picks to score 35+ points and make 5+ three-pointers in a game as a rookie. On April 10, 2025, Risacher set a new career-high with 38 points in a win over the Brooklyn Nets.
Playing for His Country
Risacher played for the France under-17 basketball team in the 2022 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup. He averaged 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. France won the bronze medal in that tournament.
In February 2024, Risacher was chosen to play for the France senior team. This was for their EuroBasket 2025 qualifying games.

Family Life
Zaccharie's father, Stéphane Risacher, was also a professional basketball player. He won a silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics with the French national team. Zaccharie also has a younger sister, Aïnhoa. She is also a professional basketball player and plays for ASVEL Féminin.
