Zenia is a small place in Trinity County, California, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a town that doesn't have its own local government like a city does. Zenia is about 6.5 miles (10.5 kilometers) northeast of a town called Alderpoint. It also has its own post office with the ZIP code 95595, which has been open since 1899. Another nearby place is Kettenpom, about 3.8 miles away.
A Look at Zenia's Past
Zenia wasn't always called Zenia! In the 1860s, the first people who came here named it 'Poison Camp'. This was because a plant called larkspur grew in the area and made their cattle sick.
Later, a postmaster named George Croyden changed the community's name to Zenia. He named it after a girl.
Zenia is also home to a very old farm called the Seven Cedars homestead. This farm was started way back in 1902.
