Zhou Qi (born January 16, 1996) is a professional basketball player from China. He plays as a center for the Beijing Ducks in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Zhou has been an important member of the China men's national basketball team since 2014. He helped his team win gold medals at the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship and the 2018 Asian Games.

Zhou started his professional career with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the CBA. In 2016, he was chosen by the Houston Rockets in the NBA draft. He played for the Rockets for two seasons before returning to China. Later, he also played in Australia's NBL for the South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Zhou's Early Basketball Journey

Zhou Qi began playing basketball at Fuxin Basketball School in China in 2005. He quickly became known for his skills.

Rising Star in Youth Tournaments

In 2011, Zhou led China's youth team to a big win in Turkey. He showed amazing talent at the TBF International Under-16 Tournament. In one game, he scored 41 points, grabbed 28 rebounds, and blocked 15 shots. He then helped his team win the final game with 30 points, 17 rebounds, and 8 blocks.

A year later, at the 2012 Albert Schweitzer Tournament, Zhou continued to impress. This tournament is a place where top young international players compete. He averaged 16.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.2 blocks per game. These performances made many people notice his potential.

In January 2014, Zhou joined the Xinjiang Flying Tigers. He was too young to play right away, but he was ready for the 2014–15 season.

Professional Career Highlights

Time with the Houston Rockets

Zhou signed with the Rockets in July 2017. He played his first NBA game on October 21, 2017. He scored his first NBA points on November 1, 2017. During his time with the Rockets, he also played for their minor league team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Rockets decided to waive Zhou in December 2018.

Returning to China and Playing in Australia
