Zig and Zag is a fun animated sitcom TV show. It's about two alien brothers, Zig and Zag, who come from a planet called Zog. They are actually famous puppet characters who got their own cartoon! The show was made for CBBC in the UK and RTÉ in Ireland. You could watch it on CBBC and RTÉjr. The best part is that the original creators and voice actors, Ciaran Morrison and Mick O'Hara, still voice Zig and Zag!

The Story of Zig and Zag

Alien brothers Zig and Zag accidentally crash-land their spaceship. They end up in a normal, quiet neighborhood on Earth. They decide to make this new place their home. On Earth, they have many funny adventures. They try to make the most of everything our planet has to offer!

Main Characters

• Zig (voiced by Ciaran Morrison): His full name is Zigmund Ambrose Zogly. He is a beige alien. Zig is Zag's brother. He is a happy and curious alien. He might not be the smartest, but he is always excited for new adventures.
• Zag (voiced by Mick O'Hara): His full name is Zagnatius Hillary Zogly. He is a purple alien. Zag is Zig's older brother. He thinks he is very smart and confident. Zag always looks neat and loves to be fashionable. He also uses his "super manners" to get what he wants.
• Nellie (voiced by Debra Stephenson): Nellie is a cool pre-teen girl. She helps her dad at the local mini-mart. Nellie is quick to point out when Zig and Zag's plans are not very good. She often helps them get back on track. She thinks Zig is cute and sometimes flirts with him, but he never notices! Nellie is probably the Z brothers' best friend on Earth.

Other Fun Characters

• Mrs. Eyebrows (voiced by Allen Doyle): She is Zig and Zag's mysterious next-door neighbor. She is an older lady who has an imaginary cat named Mr. President.
• Mr. Jones: He is a nervous man who is always running late. He loves his "quiet time." But Zig and Zag often interrupt him. They always ask him for advice on how things work on Earth. He becomes their accidental teacher.
• Mrs. Jones (voiced by Lisa Garvey): She is very different from her husband. Mrs. Jones is lively and enthusiastic. She always tries to be the perfect neighbor. She often brings Zig and Zag fresh beetroot macaroons!
• Brie and Stilton: These are the Jones' strange children. They never speak. You only hear them breathing loudly through their noses.
• Nellie's Dad: We never see his face! He is always stacking shelves on a ladder. Zig often makes him tumble down by taking items from the bottom of his piles. Then Zag announces, "Clean up on aisle three!" over the shop's Tannoy.
• The Secret Agents (Agent A. Gent voiced by Inel Tomlinson, Agent Honey voiced by Sam McGovern): These two agents work for P.A.N.T.S. (Prevention of Alien Network Takeover Squad). Agent A. Gent has always believed aliens would invade. When Zig and Zag crash-landed, he thought his prediction was finally coming true! His boss sends him and Agent Honey to watch Zig and Zag.
• Abs & Pek Von Pumpiniron (Abs voiced by Tara Flynn, Pek voiced by Paul Tylak): They used to be a tumbling act. Now they run the local Megagym. They live next door to Zig and Zag. They are super sporty and love to compete. Zig and Zag are not sure if Abs is a boy or a girl. Pek doesn't speak English, but Zig somehow understands everything he says.
• The Marshmallow of Destiny (MOD): Zig keeps a special marshmallow in his jacket pocket. He only asks the MOD for advice when things are really bad. Only Zig can hear or see the MOD giving wise advice.

How the Show Was Made

On April 15, 2015, it was announced that a new animated series for Zig and Zag was being made. It was for CBBC and RTÉ. On August 16, 2015, the show's theme song was created and recorded. It was made by Ricky Wilson and Simon Rix from the band Kaiser Chiefs. The show then started airing in early 2016.

Series 1 (2016)

The first series had 26 episodes. It started on RTÉjr on March 1, 2016. It then began on CBBC on April 25, 2016.

Shorts (Zogcasts) (2016–17)

A series of short episodes, called Zogcasts, also aired on CBBC.

Show Music

• Theme Tune: The theme song is called "5,4,3,2,1." It is forty seconds long. It was created by Ricky Wilson and Simon Rix. They are from the British indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs. They were fans of Zig and Zag from watching The Big Breakfast.
• The Zog Drop: In every episode, Zig and Zag have a "eureka moment." This is when they get a great idea that leads them to success (or failure!). When this happens, they do a special dance. It's like a Haka dance. The show's composer, Jonathan Casey, created it.
