Zofia Nałkowska (born November 10, 1884, in Warsaw, Poland – died December 17, 1954, in Warsaw) was a famous Polish writer. She wrote novels, plays, and many essays. She was also an important member of the Polish Academy of Literature from 1933 to 1939.

About Zofia Nałkowska's Life

Zofia Nałkowska grew up in a family that cared a lot about fairness and helping others. Her parents were very educated people. She studied at a secret school called the Flying University because Poland was under Russian rule at the time.

After Poland became independent again, Zofia became one of the country's most important women writers. Her books and plays often showed real-life situations and explored how people think and feel.

Her Famous Books and Stories

Zofia Nałkowska's first big success was The Romance of Teresa Hennert in 1923. She then wrote many popular novels.

She is best known for her books Granica (which means "Boundary"), published in 1935. She also wrote Węzły życia (meaning "Bonds of Life") in 1948. Another very famous work is Medallions, a collection of short stories from 1947.
