Zooman Sam (1999) is a fun children's novel written by Lois Lowry. It's part of a popular book series about a girl named Anastasia and her younger brother, Sam.
What Happens in the Story
The story begins on "Future Job Day" at Sam's nursery school. Sam is super excited because he dreams of becoming a zookeeper. He loves animals and knows a lot about them.
His teacher gives him a special chance. Sam gets to teach his classmates about different zoo animals. For six whole weeks, he will be the main speaker.
Sam feels amazing standing in front of everyone. He loves being the most interesting person in the room. But Sam's big ideas often lead to funny challenges.
Luckily, Sam's family, the Krupniks, are always there for him. His older sister Anastasia and his parents are patient and loving. They support Sam as he tries to reach his sometimes-impossible goals.
