Zoran Radmilović (Serbian Cyrillic: Зоран Радмиловић) was a very famous Serbian actor. He was born on May 11, 1933, and passed away on July 21, 1985. He played many memorable characters in movies and plays. People in what was once Yugoslavia still remember his amazing performances.

Early Life and Discovering Acting

Zoran Radmilović was born in a town called Zaječar in Serbia. When he was young, he started studying different subjects at the University of Belgrade. He studied law, architecture, and even languages.

But soon, he found his true passion: acting! He realized that performing was what he truly loved to do. After finishing his studies at the Drama Arts Academy, he joined the Belgrade Drama Theatre.

Becoming a Star Actor

In the 1960s, Zoran Radmilović joined a famous theater called Atelje 212 Theatre. This is where he became really well-known. One of his most famous roles there was playing Kralj Ibi, also known as King Ubu.

He also starred in many popular films. International audiences might know him from a 1971 cult film. In former Yugoslavia, he was best known for his role as Bili Piton (Billy the Python) in the 1982 comedy The Marathon Family. He also played the main character in Dušan Kovačević's play Radovan III.

Later Career and Legacy

One of Zoran Radmilović's last movie roles was in the 1985 film When Father Was Away on Business. This movie was very successful and even won the top award, the Palme d'Or, at the Cannes Film Festival.

Zoran Radmilović passed away shortly after this film received its big award. He is still remembered as one of the greatest actors from Serbia. In December 2000, a Serbian newspaper called Večernje novosti ranked him as the best Serbian actor of the 20th century. This shows how much he was loved and respected for his talent.
