Zvonko Čoh was born on August 7, 1956. He is a famous Slovene painter, illustrator, and animator. He is best known for creating the first full-length animated movie in Slovenia.

This movie was called Socialization of a Bull and came out in 1998. Zvonko Čoh worked on it with another artist, Milan Erič. He has also drawn pictures for more than thirty books for kids and teens. Plus, he has made over twenty short animated films.

Who is Zvonko Čoh?

Zvonko Čoh was born in a city called Celje in 1956. He studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. He finished his studies in 1980.

Since then, he has worked as a free-lance artist. This means he works for himself and takes on different projects. He draws for many publishers in Slovenia. His amazing illustrations can also be found in magazines for children and young people.

Making Animated Films

Zvonko Čoh has created many short animated films. In 1998, he made history with Milan Erič. They created Slovenia's very first feature-length animated film. A feature-length film is a full-length movie, usually over an hour long.

Their film was titled Socializacija bika? (which means Socialisation of a Bull?). This was a big step for animation in Slovenia.

Awards for His Work

Zvonko Čoh has won the Levstik Award two times. This is a very important award in Slovenia for children's books.

He first won in 1988. This was for his illustrations in two books: Račka Puhačka (The Fluffy Duckling) and Rastoče težave Jadrana Krta (The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole). He won again in 1999. This time, it was for his pictures in a book of children's folk limericks called Enci benci na kamenci.
