Álvaro Antonio García Pérez (born on February 23, 1975), known as Álvaro Morte, is a Spanish actor. He became famous around the world for playing 'The Professor' in the TV series Money Heist. Morte also appeared as Logain Ablar in the Amazon Prime Video fantasy series, The Wheel of Time.

Álvaro Morte's Early Life
Álvaro Antonio García Pérez was born in Algeciras, Spain. His family soon moved to Bujalance.
He first studied communications engineering. But he decided to switch to acting. He graduated from the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Córdoba in 1999. He also studied for two months in Finland. After that, he moved to Madrid. When he was 33, he faced a health challenge but bravely overcame it.
Álvaro Morte's Acting Career
Álvaro Morte started his acting journey with a small part in the Spanish TV series Hospital Central. His first main role in a TV series was as Ray, a driver, in Planta 25 from 2007 to 2008. He then played Adolfo Castillo in Bandolera and Gabriel Areta in the soap opera Amar en tiempos revueltos.
Morte also had a small role in the 2007 film Lola, la película. This movie was about the singer Lola Flores. In it, he played a bullfighter.
Besides acting, Morte also owns a theatre company. It is called 300 pistolas (which means 300 pistols). He started this company in 2012.
In 2014, Morte joined the cast of El secreto de Puente Viejo. He played Lucas Moliner, a small-town doctor, until 2017.
The Professor in Money Heist
After leaving Puente Viejo, Morte took on the role of Sergio "el Profesor" Marquina in La Casa de Papel. The first season aired in 2017. He received a lot of praise for playing The Professor. This character is a very smart criminal mastermind. The show and Morte became famous worldwide. In late 2017, Netflix bought the series. The final part of the last season was released in December 2021.
Film and Other TV Roles
Morte got his first main role in a movie in the Netflix film Mirage (2018).
In 2019, Morte starred in the TV series El embarcadero. He played Óscar, a man who lived a double life. In December 2019, it was announced that Morte joined the Amazon series The Wheel of Time. This show is based on the famous fantasy novels. He played Logain in nine episodes from 2021 to 2023.
In April 2021, he was cast as Juan Sebastián Elcano in the miniseries Boundless.
Morte also had a big role in the 2024 film Immaculate, acting alongside Sydney Sweeney.
