Æsir–Vanir War facts for kids
In Norse mythology, the Æsir–Vanir War was a war that occurred between the Æsir and the Vanir, two groups of gods.
The war ultimately resulted in the unification of the two tribes into a single tribe of gods.
The war is an important event in Norse mythology. The two sides eventually came to a truce when during the peace conference the Æsir and the Vanir all spat into a vat.
When they left, the gods decided that it should not be poured out, but rather kept as a symbol of their peace, and so from the contents they made a man, Kvasir. Kvasir is later murdered, and from his blood was made the Mead of Poetry.
