École Supérieure de Cuisine Française - Ferrandi facts for kids
The École Supérieure de Cuisine Française (which means Higher School of French Cuisine, often called ESCF) is a special school in central Paris, France. It teaches students how to become amazing chefs and how to manage restaurants or hotels. It's part of a bigger school called École Grégoire-Ferrandi and was started by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In 2005, the school created a special workshop called Atelier Pierre Hermé. This class helps students learn the amazing skills and recipes of the famous French pastry chef, Pierre Hermé.
How the School Started
The school began in 1932. It was first known as the Ferrandi School. The Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry created it to offer special training for people who wanted to work with food. It was their very first "Atelier École," which means a workshop school.
In 1983, the school started the École Supérieure de Cuisine Française program. Later, in 1997, the Ferrandi School joined with another school called the Grégoire School. The Grégoire School taught skills like craftsmanship and interior design. Together, they formed the École Grégoire Ferrandi.
