George Duran was born on January 13, 1975. He is an Armenian-American chef and entertainer. You might know him from commercials for Hunt's tomatoes. He also hosted Ultimate Cake Off on TLC.

About George Duran
Early Life and Education
George Duran was born in Caracas, Venezuela. His birth name was George Kevork Guldalian. His parents were from Lebanon and had Armenian roots. Later, his family moved to the United States. They became American citizens.
George went to New York University. He studied Communications. This is where he started to get interested in TV and radio. He hosted a radio show called HYE Time on WNYU. In 1996, he won an award for Best Radio Talk Show.
From Radio to TV
After college, George kept working in radio. He was a comedian on the radio station WPLJ in New York. In 1999, he moved to WABC radio. There, he created and performed more comedy skits.
In 2000, George started working in television. He worked on the MTV show House of Style. Then, he moved to Miami. He worked at HTV, a TV station for Latin music.
Becoming a Chef
In 2002, George moved to Paris, France. He wanted to follow his passion for food. He went to a cooking school called École Supérieure de Cuisine Française (ESCF) - Ferrandi. This means "Higher School of French Cuisine."
While in Paris, he hosted a TV show called Pop Cuisine. It was on a French cooking channel called Cuisine TV. The show was nominated for a 7 d’Or. This is like a French Emmy award for TV shows. It also won a Silver Grape Gastronomic Award in 2003. This award is for food-related achievements.
His Cookbooks and Shows
In 2006, George Duran hosted Ham on the Street on the Food Network. He also became the host of another Food Network show. This show was called The Secret Life Of....
George published his first cookbook in 2008. It was called Take This Dish and Twist It.
In 2010, he hosted Chocolate Wars. This show was on the TLC Channel.
George loves cooking with different styles. He enjoys French, Armenian, and South American foods. He can speak English, Spanish, French, and Armenian. Today, he lives in New York.
