Érika Kelly Pereira Coimbra (born on March 23, 1980), often called "Kiki," is a famous Brazilian volleyball player. She is known for her powerful hits and amazing skills on the court. Érika played for Brazil in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. She won a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also competed in the 1999 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup.

Érika Coimbra's Volleyball Journey

Érika Coimbra has had a long and successful career playing volleyball. She started playing professionally in 1997. She has played for many different clubs in Brazil and other countries. Her position on the court is an outside hitter, which means she is often responsible for attacking and scoring points.

Playing for Brazil

Érika was a key player for the Brazilian national team from 1999 to 2007. During this time, she helped her country win many important medals.

  • At the 2000 Summer Olympic Games, she helped the Brazilian team win a bronze medal. This was a huge achievement for her and her team.
  • She won a silver medal at the 2003 FIVB Women's World Cup in Japan.
  • She also earned a bronze medal at the 1999 FIVB Women's World Cup, also held in Japan.
  • In the World Grand Prix, Érika won a gold medal in 2004 and a bronze medal in 2000.
  • At the Pan American Games, she won a gold medal in 1999 and a silver medal in 2007.

Club Successes

Érika has also won many championships with her club teams. She played for several top clubs in Brazil, like Rexona Ades and Minas Tênis Clube. She also played internationally for teams in Turkey and Poland.

  • She won the Brazilian Women's Volleyball Superliga championship five times with Rexona Ades (1997–98, 1999–00, 2008–09).
  • She also won the Brazilian Superliga with Minas Tênis Clube in 2001–02 and with Finasa Osasco in 2003–04 and 2004–05.
  • In Poland, she helped Atom Trefl Sopot win the Polish League championship in 2012–13.

Érika Coimbra has received many individual awards for her amazing skills. These awards show how talented she is as a volleyball player.

  • 1997 FIVB U18 World Championship – She was named the "Most Valuable Player" (MVP), "Best Spiker," and "Best Scorer." This means she was the best player, best at hitting the ball, and scored the most points in the tournament for players under 18.
  • 1999 FIVB U20 World Championship – She was again named the "Most Valuable Player" for players under 20.
  • 2000 FIVB World Grand Prix – She was recognized as the "Best Server."
  • 2012–13 Polish League – She was the "Most Valuable Player" in the Polish League.
  • 2013 Polish Cup – She was the "Best Receiver" in the Polish Cup.
