One Ninety One Peachtree Tower is a very tall building, called a skyscraper. It stands 235 m (771 ft) (771 feet) high and has 50 floors. You can find it in Atlanta, Georgia.

Famous architects Johnson/Burgee Architects and Kendall/Heaton Associates Inc designed it. The building was finished in 1990. It is the fourth tallest building in Atlanta. It even won "Building of the Year" awards in 1991, 1998, and 2003!

History of 191 Peachtree Tower

For many years, 191 Peachtree Tower was seen as the best place for businesses in Atlanta. But in 2006, two big companies, King & Spalding and Wachovia, moved out. This left much of the building empty.

Later that year, a company called Cousins Properties bought the building. Cousins Properties had actually helped build 191 Peachtree Tower in the first place! They moved their own main office into the building. They also signed up many smaller businesses to rent space.

In 2008, a large consulting company named Deloitte agreed to stay and rent even more space. This helped the building become mostly full again.

Did you know? This skyscraper stands on the spot where a famous old hotel once was. The Hotel Majestic was one of Atlanta's most important hotels in the early 1900s.

Design and Features of the Tower

The idea for this building first came up in 1987. It was planned to have 48 floors, but it ended up with 50!

The outside of the building is made of special stone called Rosa Dante granite. The windows are made of gray-tinted glass. Each of the two main parts of the tower has a special crown on top. These crowns light up at night! You might have seen them glowing in helicopter videos during the 1996 Olympics.

The main entrance to the building is very grand. It has a huge open space, called an atrium, that is 102 feet (about 31 meters) tall. That's like seven stories high! This entrance is right next to Peachtree Street in Downtown Atlanta.
