345 Park Avenue is a very tall building, called a skyscraper, located in the Midtown area of New York City. It stands at about 634 feet (193 meters) high. This building takes up an entire city block. It stretches from Park Avenue to Lexington Avenue, between 51st and 52nd Streets. It is a busy office building where many different companies have their offices.

Building History and Design

The 345 Park Avenue skyscraper was finished in 1969. It has 44 floors and was designed by a company called Emery Roth & Sons. This building is one of the tallest in New York City.

From Hotel to Skyscraper

Before this skyscraper was built, a famous hotel stood on the same spot. This hotel was called the Hotel Ambassador. It was built in 1921 and was a well-known place.

In 1958, the hotel was sold to Sheraton Hotels. Its name was changed to the Sheraton-East. However, the hotel was torn down in 1966 to make space for the new office building.

345 Park Avenue in Pop Culture

The outside of 345 Park Avenue has even been featured on television! Its exterior was used in the TV show Sports Night. In the show, it was shown as the headquarters for two fictional companies, CSC and Continental Corp. The show aired from 1998 to 2000.
