5 Gum is a popular brand of sugar-free chewing gum. It's made by the Wrigley Company and is often marketed to teenagers. The name '5' is a bit of a mystery! It hints at the five human senses, like sight, smell, and taste. Their old slogans, 'Stimulate Your Senses' and 'How It Feels to Chew Five Gum,' played on this idea. Also, each piece of gum has only 5 calories.

5 Gum first came out in the United States in March 2007. It then launched in Canada in January 2008. By 2009, it reached Russia, Europe, and Australia. In 2010, it became available in countries like China, India, Italy, the Middle East, Thailand, and Malaysia. When 5 Gum arrived in new places, it was often called "New 5 Gum."

Popular Flavors of 5 Gum

The first three flavors of 5 Gum were Peppermint, Spearmint, and Cinnamon. After that, Tropical and Berry flavors were added. In 2009, Wintermint and Bubble flavors joined the lineup.

In March 2010, two new flavors called "React" were released in the United States. Their slogan was "Everyone Experiences It Differently," meaning the taste might feel unique to each person. "React" came in both mint and fruit flavors. It arrived in Australia in March 2011.

Other exciting flavors include "Prism," which tastes like watermelon. There's also "Vortex," a green apple flavor, and "Swerve," which is a sour tropical taste.

Special Editions and Packs

A special flavor called "Mutant" was released in Australia in May 2011. This was part of a promotion for the movie X-Men: First Class. It was later stopped but then brought back as "Cirrus."

In June 2012, Wrigley also started selling 5 Gum in new ways. They offered Cobalt and Rain flavors in small micro-packs, bottles, and mini-bottles. These bottles contain small pellet-style gum pieces instead of the usual sticks. The bottle format is also available in Canada.

Gaming Collaboration

On September 8, 2020, 5 Gum announced a cool partnership! They teamed up with "Respawn By Razer," a gaming drink brand from Razer. Together, they created three new 5 Gum flavors especially for gamers. They claimed these flavors could help gamers focus better while playing.

What's in 5 Gum?

Each piece of 5 Gum has five calories. The gum contains different sweeteners like aspartame (which has phenylalanine), acesulfame-potassium, sorbitol, and mannitol. It also includes soy lecithin. These ingredients help make the gum sugar-free and give it its unique texture and taste.
