A.S.G. Nocerina was an Italian football club. It was based in Nocera Inferiore, a town in Italy. The club stopped playing in 2015. Another club, A.S.D. Città di Nocera 1910, took its place. This new club is now known as A.S.D. Nocerina 1910.

Club History

Early Years and Changes

The original football club in Nocera was founded in 1910. It was called "Associazione Giovanile Nocera." Later, in 1978, it became "Associazione Calcio Nocerina." That same year, the club moved up to Serie B, which is a higher league in Italian football.

However, in 1988, A.C. Nocerina faced financial problems. It was removed from the professional league.

A New Beginning

After the original club stopped, a new team was formed. This new club was called Unione Sportiva Nocerina. It started in 1988. This is often called a "phoenix club" because it rose from the ashes of the old one.

Over the years, the club changed its official name a few times. In 2000, it became Associazione Giovanile Nocerina 1910. Then, in 2008, it was officially re-formed as A.S.G. Nocerina.

Return to Serie B

In 2011, A.S.G. Nocerina had a great season! They won their league, Lega Pro Prima Divisione. This victory meant they were promoted to Serie B. It was a big moment, as it had been 32 years since a Nocerina club played in Serie B.

However, their time in Serie B was short. At the end of the 2011–12 season, Nocerina finished 20th. This meant they were relegated back to the Lega Pro Prima Divisione.

The Club's End

A.S.G. Nocerina continued to play for a few more years. But in 2015, the club officially stopped. A different club from a nearby town then moved to Nocera Inferiore. This club was renamed A.S.D. Città di Nocera 1910, continuing the football tradition in the town.

Team Colors and Nickname

The team's main colors are red and black. These colors were used on their jerseys. The club's nickname was the Mastini, which means "Mastiffs."
