Nocera Inferiore is a town in Campania, Italy. It is located in the province of Salerno. The town sits at the foot of Monte Albino. It is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) east-south-east of Naples.
Long ago, Nocera Inferiore was known as Nuceria Alfaterna. It was a very important city in the Sarnus valley. Other famous ancient towns, like Herculaneum and Pompeii, were once connected to it.
