A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is an exciting novel written by the famous American author Mark Twain. It was first published in 1889. This book is special because it's one of the very first stories ever written about time travel! Imagine going back in time to a completely different era – that's what happens in this book.

The Story of Hank Morgan

The main character in the story is a clever American named Hank Morgan. He lives in Connecticut in the late 19th century. One day, something incredible happens: Hank somehow travels all the way back in time to the legendary land of King Arthur and his famous castle, Camelot.

Hank is from a time with modern science and technology. He knows a lot about things like machines, chemistry, and how the world works. When he arrives in the Middle Ages, people are amazed by his knowledge. They think his inventions are magic!

Because of his smart ideas and inventions, Hank quickly becomes very powerful. People start calling him "The Boss." He tries to use his modern knowledge to improve medieval society. He wants to bring new ideas and technologies from his time to King Arthur's world. He tries to make things better, like introducing new ways of doing things and sharing his understanding of science.

However, not everyone is happy with Hank's changes. The powerful wizard Merlin, who is used to old magic, eventually puts Hank into a deep, magic sleep. When Hank finally wakes up, he finds himself back in his own time, the 19th century. The adventure in King Arthur's court was like a dream, but it left a big mark on him.
