Aaditya Uddhav Thackeray (born 13 June 1990) is an Indian politician. He served as a Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, Tourism, and Environment in the Government of Maharashtra. He is also a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Worli, Mumbai.

Aaditya Thackeray is the son of Uddhav Thackeray, who was the 19th Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He is also the grandson of Balasaheb Thackeray, a well-known political leader. Aaditya Thackeray leads Yuva Sena, which is the youth group of the Shiv Sena political party. He became a Cabinet Minister in Maharashtra on 30 December 2019.

Early Life and Education

Aaditya Thackeray was born to Uddhav Thackeray and Rashmi Thackeray. He has a younger brother named Tejas. He went to Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, South Mumbai. He also studied at Dhirubhai Ambani International School for his last two years of high school.

Later, he earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from St. Xavier's College in Fort, South Mumbai. He then studied law at Kishinchand Chellaram Law College in Churchgate, South Mumbai, where he received his law degree (LL.B.).

Creative Work

Aaditya Thackeray has also shown interest in creative fields. In 2007, he published his first book of poems. It was titled 'My Thoughts in White and Black'.

The next year, in 2008, he wrote songs for a music album. This album was called 'Ummeed'. He wrote all eight songs for this album.

In 2010, he was involved in a protest about a book. The book was called 'Such a Long Journey'. It was part of the reading list at Mumbai University. Thackeray felt that the book used disrespectful language about Marathi people.

Political Journey

In October 2019, Aaditya Thackeray ran in the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election. He won the election from the Worli area in Mumbai. By winning, he became the first person from the Thackeray family to win an election.

On 30 December 2019, he became a Cabinet Minister. He was in charge of tourism, protocol, and environment. This was part of the government led by his father, Uddhav Thackeray.

Before he was officially elected, Aaditya Thackeray helped with several important projects. One major project was banning single-use plastics in Maharashtra. This ban was very popular with the people living in the state.
