Aaditya Uddhav Thackeray (born 13 June 1990) is an Indian politician. He used to be a Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, Tourism, and Environment in the Government of Maharashtra. He is also a MLA for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Worli, Mumbai.

Aaditya Thackeray is the son of Uddhav Thackeray, who was the 19th Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He is also the grandson of Balasaheb Thackeray, a well-known political leader. Aaditya is the President of Yuva Sena, which is the youth group of the Shiv Sena (UBT) political party. He became a cabinet minister in Maharashtra on 30 December 2019.

Early Life and Education

Aaditya Thackeray was born to Uddhav Thackeray and Rashmi Thackeray. He has a younger brother named Tejas.

He went to Bombay Scottish School, Mahim in Mahim, South Mumbai. After school, he studied at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai in Fort, South Mumbai, where he earned a degree in History. Later, he studied law at K C Law College, Mumbai in Churchgate, South Mumbai, and received his law degree (LLB).

Creative Work

Aaditya Thackeray has also shown his creative side. In 2007, he published his first book of poems, titled 'My Thoughts in White and Black'. The next year, he wrote the lyrics for all eight songs on a music album called 'Ummeed'.

He was also involved in a discussion about a book called 'Such a Long Journey' in 2010. Some people felt the book used insulting language about Marathi people.

Political Journey

In October 2019, Aaditya Thackeray ran for election in the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election. He won the election from the Worli area in Mumbai. This was a big moment because he became the first person from the Thackeray family to win an election.

On 30 December 2019, he became a Cabinet Minister. He was in charge of tourism, protocol, and environment in the government led by his father, Uddhav Thackeray. Before he was officially elected, Aaditya Thackeray helped with important projects. One notable project was banning single-use plastics in Maharashtra, which was popular with the people.
