Aaron Fa'aoso is an Australian actor, writer, and producer. He is well-known for his roles in TV shows like East West 101, The Straits, and Black Comedy. He also helped create and produce The Straits. In 2013, Aaron started his own company called Lonestar Productions. This company focuses on sharing stories from the Torres Strait Islands and north Queensland through films and TV shows.

Early Life and Background
Aaron Fa'aoso was born into the Kheodal (Crocodile) and Samu (Emu) clans. These are important family groups of the Torres Strait Islanders people. His family moved from Saibai Island to mainland Australia in 1947. Aaron also has family roots from Samoa and Tonga. He grew up in a large Torres Strait Islander community in Bamaga, which is in Cape York Peninsula, Queensland.
After finishing high school, Aaron worked in his community in Bamaga. He also played rugby league football. He played in the Australian Rugby League and Super League competitions. Later, he moved from Cairns to Sydney to play rugby for the Canterbury Bulldogs club.
Aaron Fa'aoso's Acting Career
Aaron Fa'aoso started his acting journey on television in 2006. He played Eddie Gaibui in RAN. This was a six-part drama series shown on SBS One.
Early TV Roles
In late 2007 and early 2008, Aaron appeared in another SBS drama series. He played Detective Sonny Koa in the first season of East West 101. Later that year, he had a guest role in Sea Patrol, which was shown on Network Nine.
In 2009, he returned for season two of East West 101. He also starred in the film Subdivision. In 2011, he was back for the third and final season of East West 101 on SBS.
In 2012, Aaron appeared in the last four episodes of the Australian drama TV series Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms.
Writing and Producing The Straits
Also in 2012, Aaron took on a big project. He wrote, produced, and starred in The Straits. This was a 10-part drama series for ABC Television. The show was about a crime family in north Queensland. Critics really liked the series, calling it a very popular show about a crime family.
Comedy and Memoir
From 2014 to 2020, Aaron was a regular character in the ABC sketch comedy series, Black Comedy.
In 2022, Aaron published his life story, called So Far, So Good. This was the first memoir by a Torres Strait Islander person to be sold widely.
Lonestar Productions
Aaron Fa'aoso is very interested in sharing stories from Indigenous cultures. Because of this, he started Lonestar Productions in 2013. His company creates films and TV shows in the Torres Strait and Cape York areas.
Notable Productions
Lonestar Productions has made several documentary series. These include Blue Water Empire, which tells the history of the Torres Strait Islander people. Another series is Strait to the Plate, which explores food in the islands. Aaron Fa'aoso himself appears in Strait to the Plate.
Other Important Roles
Since at least 2018, Aaron Fa'aoso has been a member of the board for Screen Queensland. This organization helps support the film and television industry in Queensland.
