Abbeyview is a neighborhood, also called a housing estate, located in the town of Dunfermline. Dunfermline is in Fife, Scotland. Abbeyview is on the east side of Dunfermline, about 2 miles (3.2 km) away from the main town centre. Many of the streets in Abbeyview are named after famous Scottish rivers and beautiful islands.

Things to Do in Abbeyview
Shopping Fun
Abbeyview has a small shopping area right in the middle of the neighborhood. You can find it around Abbey View, Allan Crescent, and Duncan Crescent. This area has handy shops like newsagents (where you can buy newspapers and snacks), places to get take-aways (like fast food), and hairdressers. There's even an Engraving Gift Shop if you're looking for a special present! For bigger shopping trips, the closest supermarkets are in the Duloch area nearby. Here, you'll find popular stores like Aldi and Tesco.
Schools in the Area
Abbeyview is home to several schools for young people.
Primary Schools
- Lynburn Primary School is located on Nith Street, right in the center of Abbeyview. It opened in the 1960s and serves most of the children living in the area.
- Pitcorthie Primary School used to be on Aberdour Road, south of Abbeyview. It opened in 1954 but closed its doors in July 2015.
High Schools
- Woodmill High School is on Shields Road, in the northern part of Abbeyview. This school welcomes students from the east side of Dunfermline. It also serves young people from coastal villages like Charleston, Limekilns, and North Queensferry.
- St. Columba's R.C. High School, Dunfermline is just outside Abbeyview, on Woodmill Road. This is a Roman Catholic school that serves students from the western half of Fife.
Play and Recreation
Right next to the shopping area, surrounded by Allan and Duncan Crescents, there's a big green space. This area has artificial playing fields where you can play sports. There are also fun play areas for children. Woodmill High School also offers many clubs and activities for the community to enjoy.
Getting Around Abbeyview
Bus Services
Getting around Abbeyview and Dunfermline is easy with the local bus services, run by Stagecoach in Fife.
- The No5 bus is a circular route. It goes from the town center, through Touch, and then back to the town center by way of Brucefield.
- The 5A bus goes in the opposite direction to the No5. Both the No5 and 5A buses run every 20 minutes, making it easy to catch a ride.
- The No3 bus connects Duloch, Abbeyview, the Town Centre, and Townhill. This bus also runs every 20 minutes.
Train Travel
If you want to travel by train, there are two railway stations nearby.
- The closest station is Dunfermline Town railway station. It's located east of the city center and you can easily get there using the buses that go to the town center.
- The second station is Dunfermline Queen Margaret station. This station is located near Queen Margaret Hospital.
