Abdee Negara (born June 28, 1968) is a famous Indonesian guitarist. He is also a backing vocalist, songwriter, and record producer. Abdee is best known as the lead guitarist for the popular band Slank. He plays alongside rhythm guitarist Ridho. Abdee has even played with international guitarists like Paul Gilbert.
Besides his work with Slank, Abdee also produces music for other bands. One of these is the Indonesian band Serieus. From the start of his career, Abdee has been known for his cool rock-blues guitar style.

Abdee's Musical Journey
Starting Out in Music
In the 1980s, Abdee Negara moved from Palu to Jakarta. He wanted to follow his dream of becoming a professional musician. Early on, he joined a band with other Indonesian guitarists. These included Ecky Lamoh, Gideon Tengker, and Henky Supit.
In 1988, Abdee went to ILW, a music school in Jakarta. He wanted to get a formal music education. Before this, he had learned music mostly by himself. At the school, he met Ivan, who later joined him in the band Slank.
Joining Slank
Later, the band Slank needed new members. Kaka and Bim-Bim invited three new musicians to join. These were Ridho, Ivan, and Abdee Negara. At first, some fans were not happy. Slank had already released six albums with their old members.
But then, something amazing happened! When the new lineup released their seventh album, Tujuh (meaning seven), it became super popular. The album sold more copies than any of Slank's previous albums. Abdee also has great skills in sound engineering. He helps with Slank's sound and has created many songs with the band. Since he joined Slank in 1997, they have released many hit albums. These albums are popular in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries.

Abdee Negara is not just a musician. He also works as a producer for other bands. He helped produce music for the Indonesian rock band called Seurieus.
Abdee's Guitar Gear
Abdee Negara often uses Fender guitars. He uses them for both recording and live shows. He commonly plays two types of Fender guitars: the Telecaster and the Stratocaster.
A guitar company called Extreme once asked him to try their guitars. Abdee agreed to use an Extreme guitar as his main instrument. But because he loves the Fender Telecaster so much, he asked Extreme to make a similar model for him.
