Abigail Leigh Spencer (born August 4, 1981) is an American actress. She is known for her roles in many TV shows and movies. Abigail started her acting journey on the TV show All My Children from 1999 to 2001. Later, she starred in the crime drama Angela's Eyes in 2006.
From 2013 to 2016, Abigail played Amantha Holden in the drama series Rectify. For this role, she was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award. She then became well-known for playing Lucy Preston, a history professor, in the science-fiction series Timeless.
Abigail has also appeared in many films. Some of these include Cowboys & Aliens (2011), This Means War (2012), and Oz the Great and Powerful (2013). She also had important roles in popular TV series like Mad Men (2009), Suits (2011–2019), and Grey's Anatomy (2017–2022).

Early Life and Family
Abigail Spencer was born and grew up in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Her mother is Lydia Ann Brown, and her father was Yancy Spencer III, a famous surfer. Abigail has two brothers. She has also shared that she has some Cherokee heritage.
Abigail's Acting Journey
Abigail's first big acting job was playing Rebecca "Becca" Tyree on the ABC soap opera All My Children. She was on the show from June 1999 to April 2001. After that, she starred in the TV series Angela's Eyes in 2006.
In the years that followed, Abigail appeared as a guest star on many TV shows. These included CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, How I Met Your Mother, and Castle.
In 2009, she played Miss Farrell, a character who was a love interest for Don Draper, on the AMC show Mad Men. From 2011 to 2019, she had a recurring role as Dana "Scottie" Scott on the legal drama Suits.
Movies and TV Shows
Abigail has been in several movies. These include In My Sleep (2010), Cowboys & Aliens (2011), and Chasing Mavericks (2012). She also had the main role in the film The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia (2013). In 2013, she appeared in the fantasy adventure movie Oz the Great and Powerful.
She received great reviews for her role as Amantha Holden in the Sundance Channel drama series Rectify (2013–2017). For this performance, she was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award and a Satellite Award.
In 2014, Abigail acted alongside Jason Bateman in the comedy-drama film This Is Where I Leave You. She also starred with John Travolta in the crime thriller The Forger. In October 2014, she joined the cast of the HBO crime drama True Detective for its second season.
In 2016, Abigail was cast as the main character, Lucy Preston, in the NBC series Timeless. In this show, she plays a history professor who travels through time. Her mission is to stop others from changing important events in U.S. history. Critics praised her acting in the series. Timeless ran for two seasons, ending in 2018.
Abigail also has a production company called Innerlight Films. This company has created award-winning short films.
Personal Life
Abigail Spencer married Andrew Pruett in 2004. They had a son in 2008. They later divorced in 2013.
Abigail started a flower delivery service called County Line Florals. She created it to honor her father, Yancy Spencer III. He was a champion surfer who passed away in 2011.
