Abreus is a town and a municipality located in the Cienfuegos Province of Cuba. It was first established in 1840.

Abreus: A Look Back in Time

Abreus was originally known as San Segundo de los Abreu. It was founded in 1840 by landowners from Trinidad. This happened during a time when many sugar cane farms were growing quickly in the area.

Abreus shares its borders with other places. To the north, it is next to Ciénaga de Zapata and Calimete, both of which are in the Matanzas Province. To the south and west, it borders Aguada de Pasajeros, Rodas, and Cienfuegos.
