Life of Abū Bakr az-Zubaydī
Abū Bakr az-Zubaydī was born in Seville, a city in al-Andalus. His family came from Yemen. Later, he moved to Córdoba. This city was the capital of the Umayyad Caliphate.
In Córdoba, he studied with a famous teacher named Abū ‘Alī al-Qālī. Abū Bakr az-Zubaydī became an expert in language. He especially studied the grammar book Al-Kitāb by Sībawayh.
