What is a Commune?
In France, a commune is like a local town or village area. It's the smallest way that France is divided up for local government. Acy-Romance is one of these communes. It has its own local government and a mayor who helps run things for the people living there.
Where is Acy-Romance?
Acy-Romance is found in the Ardennes department. This department is in the northeast of France, close to the border with Belgium. The Ardennes region is known for its beautiful forests and rolling hills. Acy-Romance is also part of the Grand Est region, which is one of the 13 main regions of France.

Even though Acy-Romance is a small place today, it has a very long history. Archaeologists (people who study old things) have found many ancient items here. These discoveries show that people lived in this area thousands of years ago!

- One amazing find was a bronze razor from the first Iron Age. This razor belonged to the Hallstatt culture, which was an important group of people living in Europe a very long time ago.
- Another discovery was a knife from the 5th century BC. This shows that people were using tools and living in the area even before Roman times.
- Archaeologists also found a bust (a sculpture of a head and shoulders) which is now kept in the Ardenne Museum. These finds help us understand what life was like for ancient people in this part of France.
Life in Acy-Romance Today
Today, Acy-Romance is a peaceful place with a small population. In 2016, about 435 people lived there. Like many small French villages, it has a town hall (called a mairie) and a church. These buildings are often at the heart of the community.
