Adam DeVine's Early Life
Adam DeVine was born in Waterloo, Iowa. His parents are Dennis and Penny Devine. He grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and finished high school in 2002. He later went to Orange Coast College, where he met his friend and future co-star, Blake Anderson.
When Adam was 11, he was hit by a truck while crossing the road. He was seriously hurt and was unconscious for two weeks. He had many serious injuries to his legs and other parts of his body. Doctors were not sure if he would ever walk again. Over several years, he had 26 surgeries and spent a lot of time in a wheelchair.
Adam worked hard and was able to walk normally again. He said this experience taught him that "anything is possible." While recovering, he would call local radio stations and pretend to be different celebrities. When he went back to school, some kids bullied him. He used jokes to make people laugh and take attention away from his injuries. He later realized that comedy could bring people together.
