Adam Larsen Kwarasey, born on December 12, 1987, is a retired professional football player. He was a goalkeeper. Adam was born in Norway but played for Ghana's national team.

About Adam Kwarasey
Adam Kwarasey was born in Oslo, Norway. His father was from Ghana and his mother was from Norway. Because of his parents, Adam had passports from both Ghana and Norway.
Adam's Club Career
Adam played for several football clubs during his career. He started playing youth football before joining professional teams.
Playing for Strømsgodset
Adam played youth football for Trosterud and Vålerenga. He then joined Strømsgodset and played his first game on May 6, 2007. In 2010, he scored his first goal from a penalty kick during a cup game.
Adam became the captain of Strømsgodset in 2013. That year, the team won the Tippeligaen league title. This was their first league win since 1970. Adam also won the Kniksen Award for being the best goalkeeper in the 2013 season. He announced in October 2014 that he would leave Strømsgodset after his contract ended.
Time with Portland Timbers
In December 2014, Adam joined the Major League Soccer team, Portland Timbers, in the United States. During the 2015 playoffs, his team played against Sporting Kansas City. The game went to a penalty shootout.
Adam scored his own penalty kick, and then he saved the shot from the other team's goalkeeper. This win helped his team move forward in the playoffs. The Portland Timbers then won the 2015 MLS Cup, which is the league championship. In April 2016, Adam got a finger injury that kept him from playing for about a month.
Moving to Rosenborg
Adam returned to Norwegian football in July 2016. He signed a contract with Rosenborg. His old team, Portland Timbers, said this move helped them with their team budget. It also made sense for Adam and his family.
Adam won the Tippeligaen league and the Norwegian Football Cup with Rosenborg. This was his fourth time winning a medal in Norway. He left Rosenborg in 2017 to play for Brøndby in Denmark.
Playing for Brøndby
On January 9, 2017, Brøndby confirmed that Adam had signed a four-year contract with their club.
Returning to Vålerenga
On June 6, 2017, Adam agreed to a three-year contract with his former youth club, Vålerenga. He could not play in official games until July 21, when the Norwegian transfer window opened. However, he was able to train with the team. Adam left Vålerenga in August 2020.
Adam's International Career
In November 2007, Adam said he wanted to play international football for Ghana. However, he played one friendly match for Norway's under-21 team in 2008. In October 2010, Adam received his Ghanaian passport. This meant he could officially play for Ghana.
On July 30, 2011, Adam was called to join the Ghana national team for a game against Nigeria. This game was postponed for safety reasons. Adam still wanted to be Ghana's main goalkeeper. He played his first international game for Ghana on September 2, 2011. This was a qualifying match for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. Three days later, he played in a friendly game against Brazil in London.
Adam was chosen for Ghana's 23-player squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. He was the main goalkeeper throughout the tournament. Ghana finished in fourth place. Adam played in two games for Ghana during their successful qualifying campaign for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was a backup goalkeeper at that time.
On June 2, 2014, Adam was named to Ghana's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He started as goalkeeper in the team's first game, which they lost 2–1 to the United States. After this loss, he thought about leaving the national team. In August 2014, he was not chosen for the national team anymore.
