Adam Fraser Milne is a professional cricket player from New Zealand. He was born on April 13, 1992. Adam is known for his super fast bowling. He bowls with his right arm and is one of the quickest bowlers in the world! He plays for the New Zealand national cricket team, especially in shorter games called limited overs cricket. Adam was also part of the New Zealand team that came second in the exciting 2015 Cricket World Cup.

About Adam Milne

Adam Milne grew up in Palmerston North, a city in New Zealand. He went to Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School and then Palmerston North Boys' High School. This is where he started his journey to become a professional cricketer.

Adam's Cricket Journey

Adam Milne began his professional cricket career at just 18 years old. He played his first big game for the Central Districts cricket team in the 2009/10 season. Guess what? He took a wicket with only his second ball! That's a great start for any bowler.

Playing for Different Teams

Adam has played for the Central Districts team throughout his career. However, he has also played for many other teams around the world. Sometimes, injuries or playing for his country meant he couldn't play as much for his main team.

  • Indian Premier League (IPL): Adam joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2015. He couldn't play that year because of an injury. But he did play for RCB in 2016 and 2017. Later, he also played for the Mumbai Indians in 2021 and the Chennai Super Kings in 2022. The IPL is a very popular cricket league in India.
  • Playing in England: In 2017, Adam signed with Kent County Cricket Club in England. He played many matches for them, including the 2017 County Championship. He even set a new record for Kent in a T20 match, taking 5 wickets for only 11 runs! He returned to play for Kent in 2018, 2019, and 2021. In 2021, he even took a hat-trick against Surrey! He also played for the Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred competition in England in 2022.
  • Playing in Australia: Adam also played for the Sydney Thunder team in Australia during the 2020/21 season.

Playing for New Zealand

Adam Milne first played for the New Zealand Cricket Team in 2010. Even though he sometimes gave away a few runs, his incredible speed impressed everyone. He could bowl faster than 150 kilometers per hour! People saw him as a future star for the national team.

In May 2018, New Zealand Cricket gave him a new contract. This showed they believed in his talent.

Recent Matches and Injuries

In March 2023, Adam was chosen to play for New Zealand against Sri Lanka. On April 5, 2023, he had an amazing game. He took his first ever five-wicket haul in international cricket! This means he took five wickets in one game, helping his team win easily.

Unfortunately, Adam has faced some injuries. In September 2023, a hamstring injury stopped him from playing against England. This also meant he couldn't join the team for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. But he came back later that month to play against Bangladesh, taking four wickets in his only match.

Adam Milne continues to be an important fast bowler for New Zealand, known for his speed and skill.
