How Adaven Started
The village of Adaven began in the late 1890s. People came here hoping to find valuable minerals. It was a busy mining settlement.
Name Change and Post Office
When the post office opened in 1901, it was first called Sharp. Later, in 1939, its name changed to Adaven. This new name is "Nevada" spelled backwards!
Becoming a Ghost Town
The post office in Adaven closed in 1953. After that, most people left the town. It slowly became abandoned. Today, only a few old buildings and ranches are left. They are a reminder of its past.
