When the post office opened in 1901, it was first called Sharp. Later, in 1939, its name changed to Adaven. This new name is "Nevada" spelled backwards!

Becoming a Ghost Town

The post office in Adaven closed in 1953. After that, most people left the town. It slowly became abandoned. Today, only a few old buildings and ranches are left. They are a reminder of its past.
