Addison is a town in Winston County, Alabama, United States. It became an official town in December 1949. According to the 2020 census, 659 people lived there. This number was a bit lower than the 758 people who lived there in 2010.

In 2010, Addison had 757 residents. Most of the people (99.1%) were white. A small number were Black or African American, Asian, or from two or more races. About 0.4% of the population was Hispanic or Latino.

In 2000, there were 723 people living in Addison. These people lived in 315 households, and 219 of these were families. The town had about 205.7 people per square mile.

The main industry in Addison since the 1960s has been making mobile homes. Companies like Cavalier Homes and Southern Energy are located here. More people work in Addison than actually live in the town.

Education in Addison

Addison High School

Addison is home to Addison High School. This school is part of the Winston County School System. The school's sports teams are called the Bulldogs.

In 2005, Addison High School had a very successful sports year. They won state championships in both football and volleyball. This made them one of the top schools in their division.

The football team has a long history of success. Coach A.G. Hicks started a tradition of strong defense in the 1950s.

  • In 1970, the team won the state championship. They had a perfect 13–0 record and allowed only one touchdown all season.
  • In 1976, the Bulldogs won their second state football championship. Allen Stephenson was the head coach.
  • Randy White led the Bulldogs to their third championship in 2005.

The volleyball program, coached by Pam Wilkins, also had great success.

  • They won three state championships in a row from 2003 to 2005.
  • In 2005, the team was undefeated.
  • The varsity girls' volleyball team won another state championship in 2009. They were runners-up in 2008.
  • They won the state volleyball championship again in 2010.
  • The girls won another state championship under Pam Wilkins in 2013.

The girls' softball program, led by coach Debbie Thompson, won a state championship in 1996.
