Adelite is a very rare mineral. It is made of calcium, magnesium, and something called an arsenate. Its chemical formula is CaMgAsO₄OH, which tells scientists exactly what elements it's made from. The name "Adelite" comes from a Greek word that means "indistinct" or "unclear."

What Does Adelite Look Like?

Adelite can be found in several colors. It might be a blueish-gray, green, plain gray, yellow, or a light green. This mineral forms into crystals.

Special Features of Adelite

One important thing to know about Adelite is that it is not radioactive. This means it doesn't give off harmful radiation. Adelite is also quite soft. You can scratch it easily with another mineral called apatite. This helps scientists figure out how hard it is compared to other minerals.

Where Can You Find Adelite?

Scientists first officially described Adelite in 1891. They found it in a place called Värmland, which is in Sweden. Today, you can still find this interesting mineral in a specific area in Sweden called Flipistad, Sweden.
