Administrative divisions of Nepal facts for kids
Nepal is a country located in Asia. It is divided into seven main parts called provinces. These provinces are then split into smaller areas called districts. The districts are further divided into municipalities and rural municipalities. Nepal also has six very large cities known as metropolitan cities and eleven sub-metropolitan cities.
Nepal's new constitution, created in 2015, set up these seven provinces. It replaced an older system that used "Zones" and "Development regions." The new system mostly kept the old district boundaries, with only small changes to a few of them.
