Adrian Francis Branch (born November 17, 1963) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played as a small forward. Adrian was known for his skills in both college and professional leagues.
Early Life and College Career
Adrian Branch grew up in Washington, D.C.. He went to DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was a very talented basketball player in high school. In 1981, he was named a Parade All-American. He also won the MVP award at the McDonald's All-American Game.
After high school, Adrian played college basketball for the University of Maryland. He played there from 1981 to 1985. He was a star player for the Terrapins. Adrian was chosen for the All-ACC second team twice. In 1984, he helped his team win the ACC Championship. By the end of his college career, he was the second-highest scorer in Maryland's history. In 2004, he was honored as an "ACC Legend" at the ACC Tournament.
Professional Basketball Career
In 1985, Adrian Branch was drafted into the NBA. The Chicago Bulls picked him in the second round. He later played for the Los Angeles Lakers. In 1987, he was part of the Lakers team that won the NBA Championship. This was a big achievement in his career.
Adrian also played for other NBA teams. These included the New Jersey Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Minnesota Timberwolves. After his time in the NBA, Adrian played basketball around the world. He played in many different countries.
