Adrian Paul Hewett (born May 29, 1959) is an English actor. He is best known for his main role as Duncan MacLeod in the popular TV show Highlander: The Series. In 1997, he started a charity called the Peace Fund.

Adrian Paul's Early Life
Adrian Paul was born in London, England. He was the first of three brothers. His mother was Italian, and his father was British. When he was a teenager, he was a good football player. He even played for a team called Cray Wanderers between 1976 and 1978.
In 1985, Adrian Paul moved to the United States. There, he wanted to become a professional dancer and model. He also spent time acting in plays, which helped him become a better actor. One of his first TV appearances was in a show called Beauty and the Beast in 1987.
Adrian Paul's Acting Career
Adrian Paul's first TV role was in 1986 on the show The Colbys. He played a ballet dancer named Nikolai "Kolya" Rostov. After that, he appeared in many other TV shows. These included Tarzán (1991), Murder, She Wrote (1992), and Relic Hunter (1999). He even appeared as himself on WWE SmackDown in 1999. He also acted in the play Bouncers in 1987.
His first movie role was in the 1988 film Last Rites. He also starred in Masque of the Red Death, which was a new version of an Edgar Allan Poe story. You might have also seen him in music videos, like Sheena Easton's "Days Like This."
Becoming Duncan MacLeod
In 1992, Adrian Paul got his most famous role. He was chosen to play Duncan MacLeod in the TV series Highlander: The Series. This show first aired in October 1992. He played this character for 15 years! He also starred as Duncan MacLeod in the movie Highlander: Endgame (2000). Later, he was in the TV movie Highlander: The Source (2007).
Other Roles and Voice Acting
Adrian Paul has been in many other movies and TV shows. Some of his films include Love Potion No. 9 (1992), Merlin: The Return (1999) where he played Lancelot, and The Breed (2001). He also appeared in the horror film Séance (2006).
In 2008, Adrian Paul started doing voice acting. He voiced the character Patrick O'Brien in an animated War of the Worlds TV show. He also voiced a character in the Malaysian animated science fiction film War of the Worlds: Goliath (2012). More recently, he appeared in the TV series Strike Back (2015). In 2019, he joined the CW series Arrow as a villain named Dante.
Adrian Paul's Personal Life
Adrian Paul is married to Alexandra Tonelli. They got married in 2009. They have three children: a daughter born in 2009, and two sons born in 2012 and 2020.
Since the late 1980s, Adrian Paul has studied different types of martial arts. These include Taekwondo, Choy Li Fut, and Hung Gar Kung Fu. He has even been featured on the covers of several martial arts magazines.
