Adriano Gerlin da Silva (born September 20, 1974), often called Adriano, is a former professional football player from Brazil. He played as an attacking midfielder. This means he was a player who helped create scoring chances and also defended.
Adriano was a very talented young player. He was the top scorer in the 1991 FIFA U-17 World Championship. This is a major tournament for football players under 17 years old. He also won the Golden Ball award at the 1993 FIFA World Youth Championship. This award is given to the best player in the tournament.

Early Career and Europe
He started his career in Brazil with Guarani. From 1992 to 1995, he played for Neuchâtel Xamax in Switzerland. He scored 7 goals in 22 games for them. After that, he returned to Brazil.
Playing in Brazil and Japan
In Brazil, he played for famous clubs like São Paulo from 1996 to 1998. He also played for Sport in 2000. In 2001, Adriano went to Japan to play for Urawa Reds. He played 22 games and scored 6 goals there.
Later Career Moves
After his time in Japan, he returned to Brazil. In 2005, he played for Pogoń Szczecin in Poland for a short time. He then came back to Brazil to join Bragantino in 2006. Later that year, he moved to Atlético Nacional in Colombia. In 2007, he signed with CA Juventus in Brazil. He finished his career playing for Grêmio Prudente.
