Afridun Amu's Surfing Journey
The First Afghan Surfer
Afridun Amu made history for Afghanistan in surfing. In May 2017, he took part in the International Surfing Association World Surfing Games. This big event happened in Biarritz, France. It was the first time an Afghan athlete competed internationally in surfing.
Becoming a Champion
Before his international debut, Afridun Amu won a major title. In 2015, he won the first official Afghan surfing championship for men. This competition took place in Ericeira, Portugal. He is still the current Afghan surf champion.

Early Life and Moving to Germany
Afridun Amu was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, on June 23, 1987. He spent his early years in Moscow, Russia. His father worked there as a diplomat. In 1992, his family moved to Germany. They moved there because of difficult situations in their home country.
His Education and Work
Afridun Amu studied different subjects in college. He learned about law, cultural science, and a way of thinking called design thinking. Today, he works as an expert in constitutional law. He helps with rules and laws that guide countries. He also teaches about design thinking at a special institute.
