Aguaray began to grow and develop over many years. Here are some key moments in its history:
- 1911: People started looking for oil in the area, but they didn't find any at first.
- 1917: Some people who used to work for the national distribution company settled in Aguaray. They started farming, raising animals, cutting timber, and trading goods. This helped the community grow.
- 1924: Tartagal, a nearby city that is like a sister city to Aguaray, was founded.
- 1925: The very first school in Aguaray opened, thanks to a teacher named Laura Molina.
- 1928: A railway station was built, which helped connect Aguaray to other places.
- 1938: The "House of Authority" was founded, which likely helped with local government.
- 1939: A commissary (like a general store or food supply center) was opened.
- 1969: The City Hospital of Aguaray opened, started by Dr. Luis Guemes, providing important healthcare for the community.
