Ahmed Ali Lahori (1887 – 23 February 1962) was a respected Muslim scholar from Pakistan. He was an expert in the Quran, which is the holy book of Islam. He taught many students, including Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi.

Early Life and Learning

Ahmed Ali Lahori was born in 1887 in Gujranwala, which was part of British India at the time. He became a student of a famous scholar named Ubaidullah Sindhi. He studied Islamic subjects very deeply.

Becoming a Teacher

Ahmed Ali Lahori finished his studies in 1927. After graduating, he started working as a lecturer at his teacher's school. He also married his teacher's daughter. He helped his teacher organize new groups for learning and teaching.

Supporting the Pakistan Movement

His teacher, Ubaidullah Sindhi, passed away in 1944. This was before India was divided in 1947. After his teacher's death, another important scholar named Shabbir Ahmad Usmani led a group of religious leaders. Ahmed Ali Lahori was part of this group. They supported the idea of creating a new country called Pakistan. They also supported Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who was a key leader in the Pakistan movement.

Moving to Pakistan

When Pakistan was created in 1947, Ahmed Ali Lahori and his group moved there. They settled in the new country. He continued his work as a scholar and teacher in Pakistan.

Later Life and Legacy

Ahmed Ali Lahori passed away in Lahore, Pakistan, on February 23, 1962. He was buried in a place called Miani Saheb Graveyard. His son, Ubaidullah Anwar, also became a well-known Islamic scholar. Ahmed Ali Lahori is remembered for his knowledge and his contributions to Islamic education.
