Ahmose was an important Ancient Egyptian queen during the Eighteenth Dynasty. She held the title of Great Royal Wife to the third pharaoh of this dynasty, Thutmose I. Ahmose was also the mother of the famous queen and pharaoh, Hatshepsut. Her name, Ahmose, means "Born of the Moon."
