Ajai Sanders, whose birth name is Angela Marrine Wilson, was born on October 1, 1967. She is an American actress and a stand-up comedian. Many people know her best for playing Gina Deveaux in the TV show A Different World. She was on the show from 1991 until it ended in 1993.

Early Life and Education
Ajai Sanders, born Angela Marie Wilson, grew up in Dallas, Texas. She went to Hillcrest High School and finished in 1985. After high school, Sanders moved to Los Angeles.
Starting a Career in Comedy and Acting
In Los Angeles, Ajai Sanders began working as a stand-up comedian. Her comedy work led to an acting opportunity on the TV show A Different World. At first, she was only supposed to be in one episode. However, the director, Debbie Allen, was very impressed with Ajai. Because of this, her role was made bigger. She appeared in five episodes that season. The next season, she was in 18 episodes. After that, her name was added to the show's opening credits.
