Akihiro Nagashima (永島 昭浩, Nagashima Akihiro, born April 9, 1964) is a former Japanese football player. He was a forward, which means he played in an attacking position. Nagashima also played for the Japan national team.

A Football Journey: Akihiro Nagashima's Club Career
Akihiro Nagashima was born in Kobe, Japan, on April 9, 1964. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey in 1983. He joined a club called Matsushita Electric, which is now known as Gamba Osaka.
In 1984, his team was promoted to a higher league. They even won the 1990 Emperor's Cup in 1990, which is a big football tournament in Japan. In 1992, the old league changed and a new one, the J1 League, was created. On June 5, 1993, Nagashima made history! He scored three goals in one game against Nagoya Grampus Eight. This is called a hat-trick, and he was the first Japanese player to do it in the J1 League.
In 1994, Nagashima moved to another team, Shimizu S-Pulse. But something very important happened in his hometown of Kobe in January 1995. A huge earthquake, called the Great Hanshin earthquake, struck the area. To help cheer up the people affected by the disaster, Nagashima decided to move back to Kobe. In June 1995, he joined Vissel Kobe, a local football club.
His time at Vissel Kobe was very special. In 1996, the club finished second in their league and were promoted to the J1 League. Nagashima played 138 games for Vissel Kobe and scored an amazing 67 goals! He was a true hero for his hometown team. He retired from playing football in the year 2000.
Playing for Japan: National Team Career
Akihiro Nagashima also had the honor of playing for his country. On July 27, 1990, he played his first game for the Japan national team against South Korea. He played a total of four games for Japan between 1990 and 1991.
Family Life
Akihiro Nagashima has a daughter named Yūmi Nagashima. She was born on November 23, 1991, and works as an announcer for Fuji TV, a television station in Japan.
