Alamo Heights is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. It is almost completely surrounded by the much larger city of San Antonio. In 2020, about 7,357 people lived in Alamo Heights.
This city is part of the Greater San Antonio area. A small part of the University of the Incarnate Word is also located here. Alamo Heights is about 5 miles (8 km) north of downtown San Antonio.

History of Alamo Heights
The city of Alamo Heights was officially started in 1922. Over time, it grew by adding nearby areas. These areas included Bluebonnet Hills in 1928 and Sylvan Hills in 1944.
Geography of Alamo Heights
Alamo Heights is located at coordinates 29°28′58″N 98°28′2″W. It is surrounded by several neighborhoods and cities. To the north is Lincoln Heights. Olmos Park is to the west. Brackenridge Park and Fort Sam Houston are to the south. Terrell Hills is to the east.
Most of these areas are part of San Antonio. However, Terrell Hills and Olmos Park are independent cities, just like Alamo Heights. The city is about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of the San Antonio International Airport. It is also about 5 miles (8 km) north of downtown San Antonio. You can reach both places using Broadway and U.S. 281 North.
The United States Census Bureau says that Alamo Heights covers about 1.84 square miles (4.8 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.
