Alan Jackson is a character from the TV show The Sarah Jane Adventures. He is the father of one of the main characters, Maria Jackson. The actor Joseph Millson played Alan.

Alan had some interesting adventures in the series. He was once controlled by strange aliens called the Bane. Another time, he was turned into stone by a creature known as the Gorgon. He also discovered the big secret about Sarah Jane Smith and her alien-fighting team. After learning the truth, Alan helped Sarah Jane and her friends on several occasions.

Who is Alan Jackson?

Alan Jackson loved to skateboard when he was younger, and he was still pretty good at it as an adult! He worked as a computer security expert. This meant he was very skilled with computers, especially at finding ways into computer systems, which is sometimes called "hacking." He also knew some unusual people who could help him with his computer work.

Alan's Adventures

Alan first appears in the show when he and his daughter Maria move into a new house on Bannerman Road. We soon learn that Alan and Maria's mum, Chrissie, have separated, which is why they moved. Early on, Alan is controlled by the Bane after drinking a special drink called Bubble Shock.

Later, Alan helps Maria decorate her bedroom. He talks about his past job installing computers in schools, similar to Maria's. Sarah Jane even asks to see his old computer plans.

When Chrissie moves in for a short time after a disagreement, Maria is very happy, but Alan is not. He talks to Chrissie about how her sudden arrival affects things. Alan is later turned to stone by a creature called the Gorgon. Luckily, he is changed back thanks to a special alien charm.

Alan went with Sarah Jane, Maria, Luke, and Clyde to a skate park. They all had fun skating, even though Luke found it a bit tricky. The next day, Alan didn't remember Sarah Jane or Luke. It turned out Sarah Jane had been replaced by Andrea Yates, her best friend who had died years ago.

When his daughter Maria was erased from history by a powerful alien called The Trickster, only Alan could remember her. This was because of a special alien device that Maria had. Alan questioned Andrea Yates about Maria's disappearance. A small alien called a Graske then chased Alan and tried to remove him from time. But Alan was clever and trapped the Graske, forcing it to tell him where Maria had gone. When everything was fixed, Alan was very surprised to learn what his daughter had really been doing with Sarah Jane Smith.

After finding out about aliens, Alan was at first worried. He even thought about selling their house and moving Maria away from Sarah Jane. Then, Alan was shocked when people on the news claimed Luke was their missing son. Alan became very angry when he found out Chrissie had called the police on Sarah Jane. Later, Clyde sent Alan secret messages, warning him that Sarah Jane was in danger from Mr Smith. Alan and Maria also learned that Luke's "real parents" were actually Slitheen aliens. Alan then helped his daughter and Sarah Jane stop Mr Smith from trying to destroy the world.

Luke mentioned that Alan and Maria were in Cornwall during an alien invasion by the Daleks.

Alan was offered a job in the United States, which surprised everyone. He eventually decided to take the job. Before leaving for America, Alan helped the team get information about the Sontarans. During this time, Chrissie finally found out the secret about what Sarah Jane and her friends do.

Months later, Alan and Maria were asked to help Luke and Rani rescue Clyde from his father, who was slowly turning into a Berserker. Alan used his computer skills to hack into the UNIT database to find information. Alan also called Sarah Jane to help off-screen.
