Alan Anthony Wiggins Jr., born on July 19, 1985, is an American professional basketball player. He is known for his skills on the court. He played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons.
High School and College Basketball Journey
Alan Wiggins Jr. went to Horizon Christian High School in San Diego, California. In his final year, he helped his team win a state championship. He was a top player, averaging almost 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game.
After high school, Wiggins played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons. This was from 2003 to 2007. By his second year, he became a regular starter. He was the team leader in blocks that season. In his junior year, he scored even more points. He also led the West Coast Conference (WCC) in blocks, with 2.1 blocks per game. In his senior year, he was named to the first-team All-WCC. He also won the Father William Dunne Award, which is given to the team's most valuable player.
Professional Basketball Career
Wiggins started his professional basketball journey with the Tri Valley Titans. This team was part of the International Basketball League (IBL). He was chosen in the 2007 Continental Basketball Association (CBA) draft. However, he decided to begin his career in France. He joined Cholet Basket in the French LNB Pro A league. With Cholet, Wiggins helped the team win the LNB Pro A Leaders Cup in the 2007–08 season.
Later, Wiggins played for BC Dnipro-Azot in Ukraine. This was during the 2012–13 season. He was a key player for them, leading the team in both points and rebounds. On August 9, 2013, he signed with the Chiba Jets Funabashi in Japan's B.League.
In 2017, Wiggins joined the Adelaide 36ers in Australia. This team plays in the National Basketball League (NBL). Sadly, he had to stop playing during his first game due to an injury. Another player, Josh Childress, took his place.
On August 8, 2018, Wiggins signed with Soproni KC. This team is in Hungary's top basketball league. In October 2021, he signed with HKK Posušje in Bosnia.
In January 2023, Wiggins signed with KB Ponte Prizreni in Kosovo. However, he needed medical attention for a health issue. Because of this, he left the team without playing any games.
