Alba Adèle August (born 6 June 1993) is a talented Danish-Swedish actress and singer. She is known for her roles in popular shows and movies. Alba is the daughter of famous director Bille August and actress Pernilla August.
She became well-known for playing a young Astrid Lindgren in the 2018 film Becoming Astrid. She also starred in the exciting Netflix series The Rain from 2018 to 2020. More recently, she played The Nanny in the TV series Knutby .

Early Life and Family
Alba Adèle August was born on 6 June 1993 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her parents are both very famous in the film world. Her father, Bille August, is a Danish director. Her mother, Pernilla August, is a Swedish actress and director. Her parents divorced in 1997.
Alba grew up in Sweden. Her older sister, Asta Kamma August, is also an actress. Alba also has two older half-brothers from her father's side, Adam August and Anders August. Both of them are screenwriters, meaning they write scripts for movies and TV shows.
Alba studied acting at the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen. She graduated from there in 2018.
Her Acting Journey
Alba August started acting when she was a child. Her first role was in her father's film A Song for Martin in 2001. As she grew up, she took on more roles. She appeared in the film IRL in 2013. She also had a part in the third season of the TV show Sandhamn Murders in the same year.
In 2017, Alba was chosen for a big role in The Rain. This was the first original Danish-language series made by Netflix. Her performance in the show was highly praised. She was even nominated for a Robert Award for her work.
Her first main role in a movie was in Becoming Astrid (2018). This film told the story of the early life of the famous children's author Astrid Lindgren. Alba's acting in this movie was very well-received by critics.
She played The Nanny in the TV series Knutby
, which started in 2021. For her role in the first season, she was nominated for Actress of the Year at the 2022 Kristallen TV Awards.In 2024, Alba August starred in the film Stockholm Bloodbath. In this movie, she and Sophie Cookson played fictional sisters seeking revenge. She also had a supporting role in the crime drama series Blackwater (2023), acting alongside her mother and older sister.
Her Music Career
Alba August is also a talented singer. On 30 July 2020, she released her first song called "We're Not Gonna Make It". This song was even used in the soundtrack for the final season of The Rain.
On 12 November 2021, Alba released her first album, I Still Hide. This album was very popular and reached the top 10 on Apple Music's Swedish album chart. She performed one of the songs from the album, "Lights", at the 56th Guldbagge Awards.
In 2024, she was a contestant on season 15 of Så mycket bättre. This is a Swedish reality show where musicians perform covers of each other's songs. Her version of Noice's "You Only Live Once" was very popular.
Personal Life
Alba August is fluent in both Swedish and Danish. She also speaks English very well.
Her partner is music producer Pontus Winnberg. In 2024, they welcomed their first child, a daughter.
