Club career
Sevilla
Alberto Moreno was born in Seville, Spain. He joined the local football club Sevilla when he was 13 years old. He trained in their youth academy and later played for their reserve team, Sevilla Atlético.
He made his first team debut for Sevilla on April 8, 2012. This was in a La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao. In February 2013, he officially joined the main team.
On October 20, 2013, Alberto scored his first goal as a professional player. This was in a 2–2 draw against Real Valladolid. He played 17 games that season.
The 2013–14 season was a big year for him. He played in 44 matches for Sevilla. This included 14 games in the UEFA Europa League, which Sevilla won that year. His good performances helped Sevilla finish fifth in the league. They also earned him a spot in Spain's team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
On August 12, 2014, Moreno left Sevilla to join Liverpool. He was very emotional to leave his home club. He said Sevilla was the "club of his life."
Liverpool

For the 2016–17 season, Moreno started the first game against Arsenal. But he was criticized for his performance. His manager, Jürgen Klopp, defended him. Despite this, he played less often that season. James Milner often played in his position instead.
In April 2017, Italian teams AC Milan and Inter Milan showed interest in Moreno. Liverpool also turned down an offer from Napoli.
Moreno played more games at the start of the 2017–18 season. But he faced criticism again in a Champions League game against Sevilla. Liverpool was leading 3–0 but the game ended in a 3–3 draw. He later lost his starting spot to new player Andrew Robertson.
Even though he did not play in the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final, Moreno won his first Champions League medal. Liverpool won the final 2–0 against Tottenham Hotspur. After playing only five games in the 2018–19 season, Moreno left Liverpool on June 4, 2019.
