Where is Albion?
Albion is a city that covers about 1 square mile (2.7 square kilometers) of land. It does not have any large bodies of water within its city limits.
How Albion Got Its Name
Albion was officially started in 1872. Its name was chosen in a fun way, during a game of euchre. Two men wanted to name the town "Albion," and two others wanted "Manchester." The "Albion" team won!
The town was planned out by Loran Clark in 1872. The name "Albion" came from a town in Albion, Michigan. In 1873, Albion was chosen to be the county seat for Boone County. This means it became the center for the county's government.
